Overview
In XDefiant, the Game Modes are the match styles that engage players in two teams to perform various tasks and achieve certain goals within a given time.
There were five game modes available at the game’s release, and two more were added with the launch of the Preseason and Season 1 in XDefiant.
Based on the objectives, each Game Mode follows a certain map type. Currently, a majority of the Game Modes use the Arena map type, while two are based on the linear map type.
All Game Modes have six versus six team sizes.

- Zone Control
- Escort

- Hot Shot
- Capture the Flag - (Added in Season 1)
- Team Death Match - (Added in Preseason)
