Background

Yara has been the center of civil unrest since long and Beto’s family fled the crisis to nearby islands which were home to guerilla factions. In his early years, Beto became a mercenary and would often revisit Yara for work. The revolutionaries fighting against the ruling Castillo regime have no money to offer Beto for his mercenary services. Still, shrouded by his naivety, Beto still expected a palapa hut on the nearby beach and a few free drinks as his mode of payment. But, even this was too much to give for the revolutionaries. In a nearby cantina, Beto used to go and have drinks. One night a Castillo regime official approached him to offer a bodyguard job for the Castillo. Beto refused and this angered the official. The cantina was immediately swarmed with forces and people were gunned down. Beto escaped and vowed to offer his mercenary services for free to Libertad.
