Overview
ADS (Active Defense System) is an activated skill used by the GSK faction, which was added in Season 1 of XDefiant. The skill inspiration is derived from the ADS-MK IV "Magpie", an iconic gadget of Specialist Marius "Jäger" Streicher from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
When you use the ADS skill, your GSK character will deploy an electronic device that will intercept hostile incoming devices thrown by enemies at you. All devices that can harm you or allies near you will be destroyed immediately by ADS.
The enemy team however can destroy the ADS by shooting, meleeing, or exploding an EMP Grenade. DedSec characters can use the Hijack skill and change the allegiance of the device.
