Manor-Lords:Rye
Rye is a type of Crop and can be turned into Grain, which can then be made into Flour. Rye may be a better choice to grow over Wheat, as it has better fertility and can be used on lands with lower fertility.
Rye Production
To produce Rye, you will first need to unlock the Rye Cultivation upgrade in the Development Skill tree. To do this, you will need to use one point to unlock Orchardry first, then another point to get the Rye Cultivation upgrade. After unlocking the upgrade, Rye will appear in the field planting menu, and it's recommended to grow Rye in Spring. Once the Rye is ready, the farmers will transport it to the Farmhouse and it can be used to produce Grain. You must have a farmhouse to harvest Rye.
Rye to Grain
To start the process of turning Rye to Grain, you will need to set the threshing priority option to high on the farmhouse, then your farmers will turn harvested Rye into Grain, instead of storing it. If you want to store the Rye, then set the threshing priority to low.
Grain Use
Once you have grain, this can be used to create Flour, using the Windmill. The Windmill should be placed in an open area near the farmhouse, this will maximize efficiency and make it easier to transport goods. Then the Flour can be used to make Bread.
Export Grain
If you have a vast amount of Grain, you can always export it to generate more Regional Wealth. The prices of the Grain will vary depending on supply and demand.
Import Grain
If you have a large amount of Regional Wealth, you can import Grain, which will cost 12 Regional Wealth. If you have the Better Deals development, this will lower the cost to 2.
