Manor-Lords:Linen
Linen is a crafting material in Manor Lords. You can create linen by converting flax via the weaver's workshop.
This clothing resource is essential for upgrading your burgage plot to level 2, granted you produce enough of it.
Linen production
To produce linen, you'll need to follow these three steps.
- Build a farm and farmhouse
- Plant then harvest flax
- Build a weaver's workshop
Build a farm and farmhouse
As with any type of crop, you will want to find the best location for your farm and farmhouse. Linen comes from flax, so check your chosen area's fertility before building your field. The greener the area, the more fertile, and the better it will be at producing flax.
Plant then harvest flax
Click your field and select flax as its crop, and then assign some families to the farmhouse and put them to work! The more families assigned, the faster you can harvest.
Build a weaver's workshop
As with most extensions, you should be looking for the optimum placement for maximum efficiency. We would recommend building your weaver's workshop near your farmhouse for efficient transportation and conversion of flax to linen. You will need 4x timber for this build.
Other ways of getting linen
There are a couple of other ways you can secure linen, which does not require you to produce it yourself.
Import linen
If you're rolling in regional wealth, you can just build a trading post and start importing linen directly! Here's how much cost is associated with doing this.
- Import price: 14 regional wealth
- Export price: 4 regional wealth
- Trade router cost: 24 regional wealth
Import flax
You can also just import flax, so you can keep your weaver's workshop with a steady supply for linen production. This is a decent way to go if you're finding your flax harvests a little lackluster.
This approach is less costly than importing linen, as you'll see below:
- Import price: 12 regional wealth
- Export price: 2 regional wealth
- Trade router cost: 12 regional wealth
How to use linen
You can use linen for both crafting clothes and exporting for regional wealth.
Crafting clothes with linen
If you construct a tailors workshop, you'll be able to produce clothes and gamesons from linen and dyes.
The tailor's workshop is a backyard extension unlockable after your burgage plots reach level 2.
Export linen for regional wealth
As usual, if you have more linen than you could ever imagine, it could be worth exporting some to other territories for regional wealth. Prices will vary depending on supply and demand.
