How to unlock
Bakeries is a sub-branch found under the Heavy Plow branch of the Farming Tree. This means you will first need to unlock Heavy plow and then go to Bakeries.
Benefits
As mentioned, the Bakeries development will allow you to build Bakery Extensions in Burgage plot of Level 2 and above. Now, the Bakery Extensions produce Bread, which will likely be a staple food in your settlement. Further, this extension is two times faster than the Communal Oven.
Further, as you can make Bread from Wheat and Rye, you can cultivate Rye efficiently to speed up Bread production - especially if you can’t produce Wheat due to low fertility.
