There’s no shortage of hopefuls asking – is there a PSVR 2 pre-order bonus? Unfortunately, Sony doesn’t seem to be offering us anything to lessen the economic blow of their new PSVR 2 headset.
Ever since Sony announced the release date of the highly anticipated PSVR 2, we’ve had our ears to the floor listening out for any updates. Now that the PSVR 2 is available for pre-order and we’ve released our review we’re saddened to see that we won’t be receiving any kind of bonus for committing early to the headset.
It’s not been hard to commit to a pre-order. Early reviews are looking good, with the headset allegedly beaten a gaming PC with an RTX 3090 Ti in terms of performance and experience. If you’re looking to dip your feet into VR, the PSVR 2 seems the much better option over the expensive Meta Quest Pro.
Pre-ordering the PSVR 2 is definitely a commitment though, especially if you don’t already own a PS5. The growing PSVR 2 games list is looking irresistible too.
However, it’s understandable if a lack of a pre-order bonus comes as an economic blow. If you’re keen to commit to a VR headset, but would like to spend a little less, there are a few other headsets to consider. We’ve done the hard part of comparing the PSVR 2 vs Pico 4, though if you’re in the US, you might struggle to get your hands on the alternate headset.
It might also be worth your time to consider the PSVR instead of the latest PSVR 2 headset. Though we don’t recommend this if you already own a PS5 due to compatibility issues, the PSVR will still work with PS4, and shouldn’t be entirely forgotten in 2023.
