We’re comparing the OnePlus 11 vs iPhone 14 to find out which phone is right for you.

The OnePlus 11 will launch on February 7th in New Delhi, India. It will succeed the popular OnePlus 10 Pro that was released in January last year. We expect improved camera optics thanks to their partnership with Hasselblad, combined with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor.

And what about Apple’s iPhone 14? Though it doesn’t have the top-dog positions of the iPhone 14 Plus, Pro and Pro Max, it easily outperforms the best mid-range phones. This is thanks to its high specs across the board.

You may be weighing up which phone to go for, and how it matches up to what your main usage will be – whether that be for everyday browsing, watching content, or even gaming.

So we’re going to make things a little easier, by comparing what we think are the key comparison areas between the OnePlus 11 and iPhone 14. We’ll look at everything from specs to features, and even design and value for money, so you can make an informed choice.

So, let’s dive right in. Here are the differences and similarities between OnePlus 11 and iPhone 14.

As you can see from the table above, these phones boast impressive specs, though there are a few key differences that we’ll be breaking down here.

Let’s start with the displays. Both feature bright and dynamic OLED displays that allow for deep blacks and vibrant whites. While iPhone 14 can reach 1,200 peak brightness, the OnePlus 11 has the edge at 1,300 cd/m2 (nit) and boasts a higher resolution.

You’ll also notice that the OnePlus 11 clearly comes out in the battery life department. It benefits from a large 5,000mAh battery and a 100W power supply. Plus, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 further improves the power efficiency of the phone. Though Apple has made noticeable improvements in the batteries of their phones, the iPhone 14’s 3,279mAh fails to challenge the OnePlus 11.

The iPhone 14’s A15 Bionic chip has similarly been overthrown by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is the first chip to offer accelerated ray tracing amongst other impressive features. This is a huge win if you’re a fan of mobile gaming, or else a heavy phone user. While casual phone users will have no qualms with Apple’s A15 chip, it’s worth noting that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have been released with its successor, the A16 Bionic chip. If you’re leaning toward an iPhone, but want to prioritize power and performance, consider these flagship models instead.

OnePlus 11 vs iPhone 14 – features

Let’s talk about the camera abilities of these phones.

In the past, OnePlus has struggled with picture quality. However, its partnership with lens specialist Hasselblad suggests its priority to improve its reputation which seems to have worked. The camera on OnePlus 11 is very promising, featuring three main cameras on the back. This includes the main 50MP lens, an ultrawide lens, and a 2x telephoto lens.

But how does that compare to the iPhone 14? Unlike the OnePlus 11, the iPhone 14 entirely relies on digital zoom, leaving optical zoom as a premium feature for its flagship models. It also only features two back lenses, each with 12 megapixels. We’re fans of Apple’s new Photonic Engine that assists with optimization and low-light picture taking. However, it’s clear the iPhone 14 cannot compete with the OnePlus 11’s 50MP back camera.

Other notable features to mention include the iPhone’s lack of SIM card, marking Apple’s shift to eSim technology. While this system is more convenient, it will come as a blow to international travelers who find themselves in countries where eSim technology has not been fully incorporated.

OnePlus 11 vs iPhone 14 – design

The OnePlus 11 is fairly loyal to its predecessor, the 10 Pro.

It features an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass 7 on the front and rear which is fairly durable. The most distinct difference is found in the camera design. The OnePlus 11 features an enormous circular camera island on the back of the phone which might take some getting used to. Ultimately though, we think it’s a pretty cool design that makes it stand out from other smartphones.

The iPhone 14 similarly shares an identical aluminum frame and ceramic glass exterior, though has no major departures in design from its predecessor. Compared to the OnePlus 11, the iPhone 14 is also available in a much smaller size. So, if you find a smaller phone easier to hold and handle, you should consider the iPhone 14.

Overall, your preference for design is personal, and we think both phones feature attractive, minimalist designs.

OnePlus 11 vs iPhone 14 – value for money

The iPhone 14 potentially has an advantage since it’s been on the market for longer than the OnePlus 11, giving it a greater likelihood of a discount.

That being said, the OnePlus 11 looks like an impressive flagship phone, and will probably make a splash on its release. Its battery life and camera specs alone are enough to give it the edge over the iPhone 14. So, while Apple continues to maintain its strong reputation for state-of-the-art smartphones, we can’t help but turn out heads toward the OnePlus 11.
