Is Mortal Kombat 1 on Steam Deck? With NetherRealm Studios’ next creation set to be released on a handful of different platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, some hardcore fans are now wondering about its availability on the bulky Valve handheld system.
Naturally, being able to bring MK1 with you anywhere would enable you to master all Mortal Kombat 1 characters and Mortal Kombat 1 fatalities with ease. So, if you want to know whether the game will be playable on the powerful portable platform, we’ve got you covered.
Is Mortal Kombat 1 coming to Steam Deck?
Unfortunately, no. Mortal Kombat 1 is not currently coming to the Steam Deck. NetherRealm Studios has not revealed any plans for a Steam Deck port at the time of writing, so you won’t be able to play it on Valve’s handheld platform during the game’s early days. However, it may eventually be introduced to the system at some point in the future since MK1 is being released on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
Of course, a hypothetical launch on Steam Deck will depend on its success on Steam and Nintendo’s handheld device. But with the game already drawing plenty of hype and excitement from the community, a future release on the portable gaming console may not be too far-fetched. For now, though, if you want to play MK1 on the go, we suggest getting it on the Switch. However, this comes with performance-based drawbacks, so you’ll need to take the good with the bad.
It’s also worth noting that the previous series installment in Mortal Kombat 11 still isn’t compatible with the Steam Deck. This could indicate NetherRealm Studios’ and Valve’s unwillingness to bring it onto the powerful handheld platform, though this is merely speculation for now.
