If you’re wondering if Hogwarts Legacy supports DLSS – you can find out here.
Hogwarts Legacy early access has now launched, so we’ve been able to find out if the game supports DLSS (Deep Learn Super Sampling). Upon its release, Hogwarts Legacy has unfortunately seen problems occurring such as frame drops and stuttering and crashing. While we’ve offered solutions to fix all of those problems, using DLSS can actually help to further negate them.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Hogwarts Legacy actually does use DLSS.
What version of DLSS does Hogwarts Legacy use?
Hogwarts Legacy uses DLSS 3.0, which is the latest version of the software released. When the latest generation of Nvidia’s graphics cards were released, they featured the latest compatibility with this software.
DLSS uses AI to interpolate frames and upscale them to higher resolutions. This means that Hogwarts Legacy can output frames at QHD, and then your graphics card will upscale those frames to 4K, basically allowing you to game at much higher frame-rates.
If you’re wondering which GPUs have DLSS 3, you can check that right here.
Does DLSS make Hogwarts Legacy run better?
As mentioned before, Hogwarts Legacy has so far been slightly hampered by performance issues upon its early access release. These are all issues likely due to the lack of optimisation for PC hardware, as the game was likely ported from console.

If you’re experiencing frame-drops in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s likely that enabling ultra-performance DLSS mode will improve how smooth it runs.
Alongside DLSS, Hogwarts Legacy also supports DLAA (Deep Learning Anti Aliasing), and FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 & 2.0).
We’re going to keep an eye out for the latest updates regarding Hogwarts Legacy’s performance, including whether or not it uses ray-tracing. Make sure to check back in with us periodically to find out the latest on Hogwarts Legacy.
