Fans of the PC shooter series are gearing up, and wondering what are the system requirements for Counter Strike 2?
Counter-Strike 2 is free upgrade to CS- GO players, completely overhauling the game’s visuals with new effects, textures and materials as well as overhauls to the classic maps and weapons players have been enjoying for over a decade now. There’ll also be a new CS Rating system to really prove your worth against the best in the world. It looks like Valve is gearing up for an official Counter Strike 2 release date in the very near future too.

However, these can be educated guesses based on everything we know so far about Counter-Strike 2 and we’ll be updating this article once an official set of system requirements are confirmed by developer Valve.

Counter Strike 2 system requirements speculation
One of the vital factors in speculating on the system requirements for Counter Strike 2 is the Source 2 engine that will power the game. It has been around for a while and with games such as Dota 2 moving over to it a while ago it was wondered when Counter Strike would use this new version of Source.
Well, we now have confirmation that Counter-Strike 2 will use the engine, giving us the ability to make a good guess as to what the system requirements will be.
Based on that information here is our prediction for the Counter-Strike 2 system requirements

Source 2 system requirements
Because Source 2 is a video game engine, not a game itself, it does not have any standalone system requirements. The exact system requirements shift from game to game, however, the engine is only so powerful meaning that while the system requirements do vary, it is not often by a very significant amount.
Here are the system requirements of 2 different games that use the Source 2 engine, so you can get an idea of a benchmark.
Remember these are the minimum requirements. Source 2 is excellent at putting higher-end components to good use. This reduces the need to worry about having a CPU or GPU that is overkill.
