Sony has plans to announce a new 3v3 arena-based multiplayer first-person shooter from Guerrilla Cambridge during its E3 press conference later today, according to information obtained by VideoGamer.com.

VideoGamer.com was provided details on the unannounced title earlier in the year but was unable to corroborate it with a secondary source.

This morning, however, a trademark for the game was filed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, suggesting the details provided to us could be true.

According to our source, the multiplayer shooter will see two teams of players taking control of mechs and earning power ups through kills, before jumping down a hole in the centre of the map to score points for their team.

Further information, including platforms, was not revealed. A job ad last year, however, revealed that Guerrilla Cambridge was hiring staff to work on a “major future project” for PS4. Could this be it?

Sony’s press conference begins tonight at 2am BST.

Guerrilla Cambridge most recently developed Killzone: Mercenary, a handheld spin-off of Guerrilla’s shooter series that arrived on PS Vita in 2013. A second major new IP from Guerrilla Games is also rumoured to be unveiled during today’s show.
