Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, an enhanced version of this March’s action-adventure, is heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the new year.

The next-gen game was revealed in an advert ahead of this evening’s VGX awards, with additional details listed on Amazon.com.

Releasing in the UK on January 31, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition boasts improved visuals over the previous Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, with the title said to have been “re-built specifically for next gen consoles”.

“See Lara Croft like never before,” reads Amazon’s listing, “with every bead of sweat, strand of hair, and article of clothing delivered in obsessive detail. Endure a stunningly re-imagined island, fraught with new, unforgiving storms, and alive with motion.”

Amazon’s listing also features two screenshots thought to be of the next-gen version.

As well as enhanced graphics, the Definitive Edition also contains all previously-released DLC, including the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, six outfits for Lara, a digital mini art book, and the digital comic The Beginning.

Amazon currently lists the game for $59.99 (£36.70). A UK price and release date have yet to be announced.

More details on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition are expected to be unveiled during this evening’s VGX awards.

The Definitive Edition precedes a next-gen Tomb Raider sequel currently in development at Crystal Dynamics.
