Grip Digital has announced Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island, a colourful new 3D platformer heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

Inspired by classic PlayStation titles Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter, Skylar & Plux follows two heroes on an adventure to save their home from being destroyed by an evil villain called ‘CRT’. Along the way players will journey across beaches, volcanoes, mountains and deserts, while unlocking powerful new upgrades like a Jetpack and Magnetic Glove to help traverse the environment and fend off enemies.

The game is being developed in Sweden by a small indie studio called Right Nice Games.

“Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is a passionate homage to the 3D platformers of our youth,” said Right Nice Games’ level designer and narrative director Eric Valentine. “Go on an action packed adventure, collecting gadgets helping you explore a beautiful paradise and save it from evil.”

“Anyone who enjoys the classic 3D platformers like Crash Bandicoot or the Jak and Daxter series will instantly fall in love with Skylar & Plux,” added Jakub Mikyska, CEO of Grip Digital. “There’s a lot of personality and humor, colorful characters and hours of great gameplay for the fans of the genre, as well as newcomers to the 3D platformer games.”
