UPDATE 2: Rainbow Six Siege’s servers will go live at midnight tonight on PS4 and Xbox One, and 5am tomorrow morning on PC, Ubisoft has clarified to VideoGamer.com.

UPDATE: An update posted on Ubisoft’s support site states that Rainbow Six Siege’s servers won’t actually go live in the UK until 5am tomorrow, December 1.

If true, that means that players who pre-loaded the game or are attending a midnight launch won’t be able to connect to an online multiplayer game until 5am tomorrow morning.

This conflicts with information provided by a Ubisoft representative earlier today, who told VideoGamer.com that the game’s servers are scheduled to roll out at midnight local time in each territory.

We’ve contacted them again for further clarification.

ORIGINAL STORY: Rainbow Six Siege’s multiplayer servers will go live at midnight local time in each territory, Ubisoft has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

That means they’ll go live in the UK at 0:00 GMT tonight before rolling out in the US hours later. If you manage to get your hands on the game prior to midnight, don’t expect to be able to play it online.

Whether the servers will hold up any better than they did during the beta is still unclear, of course, although as reported last week, Ubisoft claims that the issues will be fixed in time for launch.

It also says that teamkilling – which reports suggest were a major issue during the beta – “will not be tolerated” in the final game. “We have a plan in place to handle [players who teamkill],” the publisher said earlier today.
