The recent Rainbow Six Siege beta was a “critical milestone and we’re thankful that you all made it possible,” Ubisoft Montreal community developer Chase Straight has told fans in a new UbiBlog post.

“We want to say thank you to everyone who participated and gave us valuable feedback,” wrote Straight. “It’s been a long road to get to this point and we really appreciate having you be a part of the journey. Everyone who participated in the closed beta will be getting a special weapon skin at launch as our way of saying thanks.”

The beta suffered from some pretty bad matchmaking, which thankfully promises to be greatly improved in the shipping game.

“We made some temporary improvements to matchmaking during the testing period, but now we move on to implementing long term solutions that should provide a much smoother experience at launch,” added Straight.

The publisher will be taking a look at feedback posted on the subreddit, forums, social channels, as well as the feedback it got directly from players streaming or sharing their gameplay content. Some players will also be selected to participate in a feedback deep-dive in a private forum.

Straight concludes: “This was a massive undertaking for the development team and we learned a lot in the process. For a game that we plan on supporting over the long term after launch, this was a critical milestone and we’re thankful that you all made it possible. We hope you had a good time and we’ll talk to you again soon.”

Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to release December 1 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
