The first episode of Life is Strange will be available to download for free from tomorrow, July 21, Square Enix has announced.

The discount will be available permanently across PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac, allowing players to try out the game before spending any cash. Up until now, the episode would have cost you £3.99.

“By making the first episode of Life is Strange free, we’re really excited to welcome new players to the world of Arcadia Bay and our passionate, vibrant community,” said Square Enix’s European marketing VP Jon Brooke. “We’re incredibly pleased with the awards that the series has won to date as well as the support that our community have given us throughout the campaign.”

Life is Strange built a strong fan base after debuting in January 2015, and is formed of five episodes following the story of teenager Maxine Caulfield, a student that finds herself gifted with the ability to rewind time.

A limited edition boxed version released on PS4, Xbox One and PC earlier this year.
