Hitman’s third episode, Marrakesh, will launch next Tuesday, May 31, IO Interactive has announced.

The latest episode takes Agent 47 on a journey to the capital of Morocco where he’s on the hunt for a private banker and an army General. The location promises “a maze of alleys, a range of souks that line the medina walls and a fully fledged shisha café,” with the team aiming to deliver an area “teeming with life and things to do”.

“As with any Hitman level, Marrakesh promises players the lure of voyeurism and the thrill of infiltration and it’s something we’ve been working hard on getting just right,” says IO.

“Offering two targets, the ‘Gilded Cage’ mission challenges players to eliminate private banker Claus Strandberg, holed up inside the secure Swedish Consulate, and army General Reza Zaydan, protected by his elite squad of soldiers at a temporary headquarters in the heart of the city. Both targets will be challenging to reach and both will of course have some entertaining special moments attached to them that will allow players to dole out some poetic justice.”

Marrakesh’s release follows shortly after this weekend’s second Escalation Contract, which is due to take place in Hitman’s second location ‘Sapienza’.

The episode will be available to purchase for £7.99, but will require the Intro Pack to play. Alternatively, players who own Hitman: The Full Experience will be able to download the content at no additional cost. Four further episodes are due to release before the end of 2016.

UPDATE: A Square Enix representative has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that players do not need to have purchased Episode 2: Sapienza in order to play Episode 3. You will, however, have needed to have purchased the Intro Pack. Once the Intro Pack has been purchased, you can buy any other episode you like and it’ll work without the ones in between.
