Grand Theft Auto 5’s Los Santos is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas and GTA 4 combined, it has been revealed.

The revelation came via last night’s GTA 5 Game Informer blowout, which claimed that, “when you include interior and exterior spaces together, Los Santos is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV combined, with room to spare.”

According to GI, the “expansive environment includes beachfronts, wine country, a large wilderness area surrounding a fully explorable Mt. Chiliad, a Salton Sea region, a military base, and of course the sprawling suburban hills leading up to the bustling urban centre of Los Santos.”

“You can even explore the fully detailed ocean floor along the Los Santos coastline.”

Game Informer also suggests that GTA 5 combines GTA 4’s “densely packed urban environment” with Red Dead Redemption’s “large open expanses” and “dynamic encounters”.

GTA: San Andreas currently holds the record for featuring the series’ largest map, which iGTA5.com states is 13.9 square miles in size.
