Pokémon has always done dual releases ever since its inception. At the same time, people question the reasoning behind and criticize it; its inception was revolutionary. The double release was done so that people would interact with each other more since different versions of games would have different Pokémon. The Pokémon games had multiplayer functions in their games even before it was a concept, and that tradition has continued.

The World and Setting

The Pokémon game’s naming conventions always revolve around a duality of sorts like Black and White, Sword and Shield, and now Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This time, it seems that the Pokémon Company is exploring the dynamics of the Past and Future. This can be inferred from the logo’s fonts, where Scarlet is more Prehistoric, and Violet is space-themed and Futuristic.

The Legendary Pokémon

While observing the designs of Koraidon and Miraidon for Scarlet and Violet, respectively. Their design does feature and furthers past and future aesthetics. Koraidon is still running on all fours when they turn into bikes, whereas Miraidon transforms into a motorcycle.

For water and swimming, Koraidon puffs up its front wheel and uses its strong hind legs to swim. In contrast, Miraidon transforms into a motorboat – esque vehicle with jet engines.

Gliding is a new feature introduced in this Pokémon game; Koraidon transforms into a large bird with wings and soars through the sky, whereas Miriaidon transforms into a plane with two jets.

The Professors

There are two different professors for the Pokémon games, which is the first time in history this has happened. Professor Sada is for Pokémon Scarlet, and Professor Turo is for Violet. Their attire strongly represents this theme, where Professor Sada is dressed as a cavewoman with a prehistoric-designed coat and accessories. Whereas Professor Turo, her counterpart, is dressed in the most futuristic sense in a full-body suit that seems made for space or virtual reality and excludes the SciFi lab coat.
