Total War: Warhammer release date set for April 2016, Collector’s Editions revealed

Total War: Warhammer will release on PC on April 28, 2016, SEGA has announced.

The game will also be available in two special editions: a Limited Edition containing the game plus a metal case and printed ‘Insider Guide’, plus an “extremely rare” High King Edition that throws in a range of physical bonuses, including a drinking horn capable of holding a pint of liquid.

SEGA has yet to announce a price for either special edition.

High King Edition Contents:

• Grudge Ring: This quality metal ring, with a rotating inner band is perfect to spin whilst brooding over grudges and plotting revenge. Six numbered bevels on the inner hoop allow the ring to double as a fully functioning die.
• Slayer’s Whetstone Pendant: Made of genuine, functional whetstone and inscribed with the talismanic Master Rune of Spite, this hefty trinket would be treasured and jealously guarded by any self-respecting Slayer, who aims to keep a keen edge on their blades.

• Chaos Warriors Race Pack: The Chaos Warriors Race Pack offers a new playable race with a full roster of bloodthirsty units, terrifying mounts and monstrous creatures. Meanwhile, everybody who pre-orders Total War: Warhammer will receive the Chaos Warriors Race Pack included in the High King Edition for free, introducing the Chaos Warriors as a playable race, and a “brand new, narrative-driven quest chain” for each of the pack’s three Legendary Lords.

The game will be supported by “free and paid-for content post-release”, too, SEGA says, with a further two games also due for release in the future.
