Total War: Rome 2’s second major Campaign Pack will release on March 27 for £9.99, SEGA has announced.

Hannibal at the Gates introduces a brand new campaign map set in the western Mediterranean, and sees Rome and Carthage scrapping at the start of the second Punic War.

Three new factions are also featured, including the Arevaci, the Lusitani and Syracuse, while Rome and Carthage each get a brand new diplomacy-based civil tech tree.

As well as announcing the new DLC, SEGA revealed that Total War: Rome 2 had sold over 1 million units by the end of 2013 and “remains that fastest-selling and most commercially successful Total War game to date”.

“Rome 2 was hugely ambitious for our studio,” said creative director Mike Simpson. “We do regret that some reviewers and core fans didn’t get everything they wanted from it. We are committed to improving and adding to the game over the coming months; we very much want Rome 2 to be remembered as one of our best.”
