Microsoft has announced that 2K’s turn-based strategy game, XCOM 2, will be free-to-play all weekend as part of Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days.
Alongside this Free Play Days promotion, the regular version of XCOM 2 has been reduced from £44.99 to £18.00. XCOM 2’s Digital Deluxe Edition has also received a price drop from £56.99 to £22.80, saving you £34.19. If you find yourself enjoying your time tactically shooting aliens in the face and decide to take the plunge and buy XCOM 2, all of your saves, game-progress and achievements will transfer over to the full game. That’s great in my book.
Recently 2K and Firaxis Games released XCOM 2’s War of the Chosen expansion, which saw the introduction of new hero classes, new enemies, more missions, different environments and a new Challenge mode.
The XCOM 2 discounts and the Free Play Days promotion are both live right now and will be active until 8AM BST on Monday morning. So, you can begin your download from wherever you are now, and dive on in later today, if you like.
