The Xbox Store's "biggest digital game sale of the year" will begin on December 22, Microsoft has announced, promising up to 40-60% off a range of Xbox titles. Xbox Live Gold members will receive a further 10% off, too.

The 'Countdown Sale' will run for over two weeks over the Christmas period with daily and weekly deals available all the way through to January 7, 2016.

Microsoft has yet to reveal which titles will be included, but does promise "epic games" and "great deals".

Sony, meanwhile, is running a 12 Deals of Christmas promotion, offering a new deal every two days. The latest is PES 2016 for £24.99. Valve has yet to announce a start date for the Steam Holiday Sale.
