Xbox One does not require an always-online Internet connection, Microsoft has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

Speaking to us following Xbox One’s announcement earlier this evening, Xbox UK marketing director Harvey Eagle said that the console had been designed to be used with the Internet, but users will be able to continue playing games, watching movies or watching live TV if the connection drops.

Xbox One was announced in Washington earlier this evening.
