It has been a wild year so far for both PlayStation and Xbox. Sony has just had the incredible low of Concord followed by the exceptional high of Astro Bot. As for Xbox, they are getting some major additions to Game Pass soon, including the first Call of Duty to join the subscription service day one. However, perhaps the wildest move this year is Microsoft giving exclusives to their competitor, Sony. Sea of Thieves is the biggest Microsoft port so far regarding sales and popularity, but PS5 gamers should play the former Xbox exclusive, Hi-Fi Rush, as it’s a remarkable adventure and is currently 40% off on the PSN store.

September is a busy month for PlayStation fans. The PS5 Pro has just been announced with pre-orders opening before the month ends, and rumors suggest there is a State of Play happening very soon. In addition, PS Plus Extra subscribers are getting The Plucky Squire as a day one gimme, and Sony will be part of Tokyo Game Show to exhibit Death Stranding 2 and more.

PlayStation is heralded as having many great single-player exclusives, which, unfortunately, is not the same with Xbox. Hi-Fi Rush was secretly one of Microsoft’s best single-player exclusives, but it failed to reach a massive audience and is now on PS5. Now that it’s on PlayStation’s system, it’s an adventure PS5 users should experience, especially if you’re a fan of games such as the newly released Astro Bot, and other iconic PlayStation properties such as Ratchet and Clank.

Hi-Fi Rush is the best former Xbox exclusive ported to PS5

Hi-Fi Rush was originally an Xbox exclusive when it launched in January 2023. It also released on PC, but for Microsoft it was a console exclusive from Tango Gameworks, part of the recently acquired Bethesda, before getting shut down by Microsoft earlier this year.

It launched day one on Game Pass, and it received a fantastic critical reception with an 87 on Metacritic for Xbox, and a 90 for PC. By August 2023, it reached at least three million players, but it was considered a disappointment by Microsoft. This paved the way for it to come to PS5 as part of the first Xbox exclusive ports that also included Sea of Thieves.

Sea of Thieves has been a triumphant success on PS5, meanwhile, Hi-Fi Rush has not set the world alight since joining PlayStation in March. However, despite this, it is the best Microsoft port from simply a quality perspective, and it’s definitely something PS5 fans should experience.

Hi-Fi Rush is an exceptional and unforgettable action adventure with a unique charm and personality that makes it truly stand out. It is ridiculously stylish with its cartoon visual art style, it has fantastic art direction and levels, and it has great boss fights, too.

In addition, Hi-Fi Rush has an excellent story with great characters, and it has a banging soundtrack accompanied by rhythm-based combat. Now rhythm-based combat may sound off-putting, but it’s easy and addictive once you get into the groove of the game and its funky music.

40% off

Right now, on the PSN store you can buy the Hi-Fi Rush Deluxe edition for just £22.79. This is 40% off from its usual fee of £37.99. The Standard edition has no sale and costs £28.00, so you should act quick and buy the Deluxe edition now before its offer expires on September 25th.

It’s not reflected in popularity, but Hi-Fi Rush is the best former Xbox exclusive ported to PS5 so far. And, fortunately for PlayStation users, even more are on the way. Indiana Jones is officially coming to PS5 in 2025, and there are rumors of more Xbox exclusives making the jump, too.
