Microsoft is set to introduce a raft of new features to its achievements system with Xbox One, including “new achievements powered by the cloud”, and the integration of a system that captures gameplay footage of players’ accomplishments.

As detailed in the console’s fact sheet, the new system “offers more ways to earn [achievements], more frequent updates and the ability to share wins with friends.

“An expanded achievements system captures videos of gameplay and continues to grow achievements over time, and Gamerscore carries over from Xbox 360.”

At least that’s one thing that does, eh?

Xbox One’s new digital video recording also lets players manually capture and save highlights to the cloud, and use “editing and sharing tools to post game footage to your Xbox LIVE profile and social networks.”

Xbox One was unveiled by Microsoft last night. The console goes on sale later this year.
