Wuthering Waves has quickly become one of the most popular gacha games available to play. WuWa has only just recently fully launched on mobile and PC, and Kuro has plans to make it so much bigger in the near future. The release date and start time countdown for when Wuthering Waves update 1.2 will come out is nearly over, and Kuro has revealed all of the banners for phase 1 and 2.
While 1.2 is just right around the corner, fans are heavily anticipating 1.3 because of the confirmed characters. We are getting Youhu and The Shorekeeper in 1.3, and sometime this year we are also getting the launch of WuWa on PS5 consoles.
There’s no specified launch for WuWa on PS5, but Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is set to come out tomorrow. The release date and start time countdown is nearly over, and fans can look forward to getting Zhezhi before being able to pull Xiangli Yao next month.
Wuthering Waves update 1.2 release date
The release date for Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is August 15th. The launch date is confirmed by Kuro.
Zhezhi will become available as soon as the new WuWa chapter launches. Meanwhile, you will have to wait until September 7th to be able to pull Xiangli Yao. These are the two new playable characters from Kuro, and both of them are massively exciting prospects.
When does Wuthering Waves update 1.2 come out?
The release time for when Wuthering Waves update 1.2 will come out and start is 10PM PT on August 14th, and 1AM ET/6AM BST on August 15th.
Per Kuro’s maintenance notice, the game will be offline at 6AM UTC+8, which translates to 3PM PT/6PM ET/11PM BST on August 14th. Maintenance is expected to last until the release times listed above.
You will not be able to log into the game during maintenance, and, once maintenance is completed, players will be rewarded with 300 Astrite and 2 Crystal Solvent.

How to preload
You can only preload update 1.2 if you are one of the lucky players chosen at random to participate in Kuro’s grayscale test. If you are one of the players chosen at random, you will be prompted to update the game’s client.
Simply follow the below steps:
- Rovers selected for the gray box test will need to update their launcher to version 1.6.0.0 upon starting the game launcher. When prompted, please click “Confirm” to proceed with the update.
- After the pre-download begins, a [New Version Pre-download] button will show up on the v1.6.0.0 launcher’s interface. Click this button to download the latest package.
