The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta has kicked off – which means Xbox and PC players can finally play the game. PlayStation owners will once again get to play – and the MW2 beta supports crossplay.

However, despite the MW2 beta being enjoyed by some, others are finding it hard to get into the beta – especially PC players.

There is currently an issue where if you restart your PC, Steam/ MWII will ask for phone number verification. If this happens, and you enter the same number multiple times, you’ll be locked out.

Instead, don’t restart your PC. Just change your username if you’re experiencing a lock out. If the game does need a reboot, relaunch the game manually.

If you’re on PlayStation, you’ll have to install the latest update recently released by Activision. Make sure to allow plenty of time – the update is approximately 680MB.

Early access runs from September 22-23. This will then be followed by an open beta stage where anyone can download and play between 24-26 regardless of pre-order status.
