Every annual Call of Duty release comes with a fresh Warzone integration containing a wealth of brand-new weaponry for players to master. In some cases, minimal issues have arisen but in the case of Black Ops 6‘s arrival, the battle royale has struggled to find its feet despite the arrival of new movement mechanics, a new map, and more.

With Treyarch already having to defend Omnimovement, the developer has worked alongside Raven Software to minimise the differences between the feel of weapons across multiplayer and Warzone. In a bid to enhance the usability of the most recent additions, the Warzone developer has shared several changes that are bound to shake up the existing meta.

Warzone’s Black Ops 6 weapons receive perfect changes

On December 4, 2024, the day before Season 1 Reloaded launched, Raven Software showcased some of the changes that will arrive to Black Ops 6 weaponry within the battle royale. While the changes don’t include any buffs and nerfs to the most popular guns, the adjustments are guaranteed to make a huge difference in both casual and competitive play.

The complete removal of annoying idle sway when you initially zoom in with a sniper rifle is great news if you want to quickscope the opposition as soon as they move into the crosshairs. The lack of sway will also ensure your initial shot will have a better chance of hitting the target,

Reductions in visual recoil is also a huge change for Warzone’s Black Ops 6 weapons. With less chance of being distracted by unnecessary movement, the change will ensure higher levels of accuracy are maintained in Urzikstan, Area 99, and Rebirth Island.

Warzone doesn’t follow the same damage profile as Black Ops 6 multiplayer meaning weaponry will receive its very own set of buffs and nerfs so the arsenal is catered towards battle royale gameplay. Expect plenty of nerfs to some of the new arrivals alongside buffs to some Modern Warfare 3 guns that have fallen in popularity since the integration.

Is Warzone recovering?

Several players believe the Black Ops 6 integration into Warzone was a step backwards following six solid seasons during the Modern Warfare 3 cycle. The adjustments to the most recent weapon additions are a welcome change but there is still more to be done to restore the battle royale to its glory days.

The return of Verdansk in 2025 has the potential to spark a huge resurgence of interest among players looking to return to the action. If Raven Software continues making small steps in the right direction, the popularity of Warzone could skyrocket once again. For now, there’s a small glimmer of hope the battle royale will return to form in the not-too-distant future.
