Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is an absolutely massive success. As a title that lowers the barrier of entry to Games Workshop’s grimdark universe, the awesome third-person shooter is an unprecedented success for the developer.

Space Marine 2 sells 7 Million copies

In the past, Saber confirmed that they expected the game to be a success, but the massive sales of the game were far higher than expected. Since release, the game has continued to sell with the game hitting a brand-new sales milestone this month.

Speaking to fans on social media, publisher Focus Home Entertainment announced that Space Marine 2 has managed to sell 7 million copies across PC, Xbox Series and PS5. As one of the few current-gen only games, the Warhammer game has managed to sell many millions of copies without Xbox One, PS4 or even Nintendo Switch sales.

“Here’s another big milestone that fills us with gratitude: 7 million players on Space Marine 2,” Focus Home Entertainment told fans. “On this occasion we want to thank each Space Marine out there for their unwavering support. Thank you (7M times).”

The success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been so huge that its even caused other Warhammer games to sell more copies. Shortly after its release, Saber and Focus confirmed that a third title is already in the works.

Not much is known about Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3, but the game is said to bring even “bigger and better” battles to the already massive third-person shooter. Honestly, we just hope that they make the melee combat more engaging for the third game.

Right now, Saber Interactive is far from done with the current game, far from it. While the developers have released mod tools to let PC players create whatever they want, the team is still working on a slew of new operations, weapons and more until the third game actually releases.
