Naughty Dog and PlayStation have announced that the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves remastered collection will launch on PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2022.
As a quick refresher, the collection includes both single player campaigns from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and standalone side-story Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games have received a high definition makeover for the PlayStation 5, and we now have specifics.
You’ll be able to pick from three modes. The first of these is Fidelity and allows a native 4K resolution with a 30FPS targeted framerate. Performance Mode meanwhile will let you enjoy both games at 60FPS with a dynamic resolution. Finally, the brand new Performance+ mode will target a blistering 120FPS at the expense of a 1080p resolution. Assuming your TV can handle it, of course.
Elsewhere, we can expect improved load times thanks to the PS5’s SSD. We’re also promised Spatial 3D audio and use of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller.
If you already own either of the two games in the collection or the digital bundle on PlayStation 4, you’ll be eligible for a $10 dollar upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. Bear in mind, if you have physical copies of either you’ll need the disk to be able to play the remasters. Those who may have picked up Uncharted 4 via PlayStation Plus will not be eligible for the upgrade.
Sadly, there’s no multiplayer in this collection. On the bright side, picking it up before February 3 will nab a free ticket to see the upcoming Uncharted movie. Regions and cinema chain depending, of course. You can check the full terms here. The collection is still heading to PC later in 2022, with more details to follow.
