The NPD Group has revealed a list of the top ten best-selling PlayStation Vita games in North America, with Uncharted: Golden Abyss sitting pretty at number one.

Developed by Sony Bend, Uncharted: Golden Abyss was a launch title for Sony's console-quality handheld, and takes place before the events of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. It's pretty much what you'd expect from an Uncharted game, only in the palm of your hand.

As for the rest of the list, it's not exactly full of any major shockers. The rubbish Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is in second place, followed by Assassin's Creed III: Liberation and Mortal Kombat.

One depressing thing to note is that Uncharted, despite being the best-selling game in the US for PS Vita, still only managed to sell around 400,000 units. Ouch.

It's a pity that the PS Vita didn't do anywhere near as well as it could have. Sony promised a slew of major first-party support for the device during its initial reveal, and it definitely had the horsepower to produce some quality titles.

Sadly, smartphones had started muscling in on the portable games market, and combined with 3DS' success, support dried up and PS Vita ended up being a companion device to PlayStation 4.

I've still got my PS Vita, and if nothing else it's a great way to experience some PSOne Classics.
