Ubisoft has confirmed a patch which will fix an achievement bug with the Xbox 360 version of new tactical shooter Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is in the works – but there’s no word on a fix for the crippling online issues.

Speaking on the official Ubisoft forums in a spiralling 34 page thread, UK forum manager ms-kleaneasy said of the achievement bug, which doesn’t allow gamers to get the Private First Class achievement if they have already achieved it in the first RBSV game: “An update is in the works for this yes.”

Unfortunately, there is still no word on the more pressing concern over crippling lag and connectivity issues when playing the game online, especially on the PS3 version.

Ms-kleaneasy did, however, explain the lack of information: “It’s not about priorities being wrong, its simply that we were aware of the achievement issue before the bank holiday weekend so able to communicate this and learn that they were working on the fix. The connection issues have not been known for as long and will require more indepth research to establish what the issue is so at this time I cannot offer the answer you seek but please do not think that means no one is looking, it simply means I personally do not have the answer. But as soon as I do I will tell you, it’s as much in my interest for you all to know as it is yours.”

In the mean time, Ubisoft has requested gamers post feedback in its forum, information it says will be “invaluable in working out and addressing the issues you are experiencing”.
