Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank — that is, the PlayStation 4 game that launched two years ago, not the one from 2002 — has apparently come out on top as the studio’s most successful entry in the dynamic duo’s platforming antics to date.

In fact, not only was it the biggest Ratchet & Clank game of all time, but Insomniac’s most successful game ever.

‘The budget-priced movie-tie-in Ratchet & Clank game we made which got an 85 metacritic and is the most successful Ratchet/Insomniac game of all time,’ wrote community director James Stevenson on Resetera. So, there you go.

For those out of the loop, the game is a complete reimagining of the original Ratchet & Clank and launched around the same time as the rubbish CGI movie. Don’t let that put you off though; it’s bloody brilliant.

Presumably Ratchet & Clank will have their work cut out for them when a certain friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man rocks up on PS4 later this year, but for now, the duo should wear a smug smile.

Insomniac Games hasn’t announced a new Ratchet & Clank yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
