Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog have shown off a little more of upcoming samurai adventure Trek to Yomi in a new gameplay trailer.

Making a vow to his dying master, swordsman Hiroki sets out to protect his people against threats both traditional and supernatural. The stylish black and white visuals give the game the feel of a cinematic samurai movie, bolstered by a score meant to authentically evoke feudal Japan.

The game’s combat is the main focus of this trailer. Patience and timing will be key, as you’ll have to use your skills to throw your opponents off balance and deal the final blow. As alluded to though, your enemies won’t solely consist of spearmen, arches and riflemen. You’ll also have to deal with beings from myth and legend who’ll take a little more to bring down.

It’s certainly no less stylish than when we first saw the game back in June. Revealed during the Devolver Digital summer showcase, the game now has a window for its 2022 release. Specifically, we can expect the game during the Spring, so it won’t be too long until we get our hands on some slick samurai combat.

Check out the new trailer for yourself down below. Trek to Yomi is coming in Spring 2022 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’ll also be available from launch via Xbox Game Pass.
