Camel 101 has lifted the wraps off a brand new psychological thriller named Those Who Remain. Due out on PS4 later this year, the game takes place in the fictional US town of Dormont, which has succumbed to a curse that encases everything in darkness. So far, so Silent Hill then.

Those Who Remain is based on the concept of darkness and light. Our protagonist arrives in town and quickly finds himself on the run from mysterious entities, where he discovers that in order to survive he must stay in the light or face certain death. Furthermore, players also discover a portal to a strange dimension that acts as ‘a dark reflection of our own world,’ where your actions in one world are mirrored in the other.

The developer noted that it’s placing a strong emphasis on narrative, with the story centring on a child who is the victim of bullying ‘because she’s different.’ Apparently, a tragedy and a series of unfortunate events are what leads the game’s protagonist to the cursed town, where he’ll battle more than just his ‘own inner demons.’

Those Who Remain also offers a dollop of player choice, with Camel 101 revealing that you’ll be able to change the game’s ending and the fate of its characters depending on your actions.  Watch a trailer for Those Who Remain below.
