This year’s Call of Duty game will be titled Call of Duty: WW2, sources have confirmed to Eurogamer following the publication of leaked images on YouTube channel The Family Video Gamers.

COD WW2 is developed by Sledgehammer Games and will see the franchise return to its roots for the first time since World at War launched in 2008.

The images published on The Family Video Gamers showed the WW2 logo and box art.

A return to the World War setting was expected, with Activision’s execs recently informing investors that the franchise would be returning to “its roots” following declining sales for the franchise.

Expect much more on Call of Duty: WW2 over the coming months.
