Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, the sequel to the 2012 rhythm action title based on scenes from the Final Fantasy series, will launch for 3DS in Europe later this year, Square Enix has announced.

The new title promises three times as many songs and twice as many playable characters as its predecessor. This equates to more than 200 songs and 60 characters from the series including segments from FF Tactics, FF7 Advent Children, Lightning Returns, A Realm Reborn and more.

Curtain Call also boasts two new game modes. Quest Medley sees players alternate playing FMS (Field Music Sequence) and BMS (Battle Music Sequence) games, while Versus BMS mode sees players challenging and competing against friends and other players.

“Music is an integral part of the Final Fantasy experience that serves as a complement to the gameplay,” said Ichiro Hazama, producer. “As with the previous title, we envisioned a game where the music takes centre stage and the RPG gameplay enhances that experience.  Our fans are definitely in for a treat as they’ll be able to re-experience their favourite songs across the entire Final Fantasy catalogue.”
