The eighth film in the Fast & Furious movie franchise will be called Fast 8, star Vin Diesel has announced.
An Instagram post by the franchise's leading man included an April 2017 date and title, alongside the tagline: "New Roads Ahead".
The text was imposed over the New York City skyline, which conflicts with earlier reports of a shoot in Cuba.
"Universal Pictures is currently in the process of seeking approval from the United States and Cuban governments to explore shooting a portion of the next instalment of the 'Fast & Furious' series in Cuba," a studio spokesperson said earlier this month.
Dwayne Johnson has also been confirmed to star in Fast 8, whilst Straight Outta Compton's F. Gary Gray will direct.
Fast 8 has a lot to live up to, with Furious 7 taking $1.5 billion globally and becoming one of the most lucrative movies of all time.
Look our for Fast 8 on April 17, 2017.
