The Evil Within has gone gold ahead of its release early next month, Bethesda has announced.

The news means there'll be no more delays for Shinji Mikami's latest survival horror, which had initially been due to release in August.

"Putting out a game on five platforms (PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4) across multiple regions is no easy feat," said Bethesda, "but we're excited to announce The Evil Within has officially 'Gone Gold'!

"Congrats to everyone at Tango Gameworks and everyone else that was involved in the process of making the game - your hard work has helped create a survival horror game that we believe people will be talking about for a long time."

The Evil Within launches across Europe on October 14.
