EA has released The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection for free to all Origin users.

The Ultimate Collection content was initially made free to those who had previously purchased The Sims 2 following EA’s decision to end support for the 10-year old title. But the publisher has now made the Ultimate Collection content – and The Sims 2 base game – free to everybody.

To grab it, launch Origin and log in to your account. Then select ‘Redeem Product Code’ from the Origin drop-down menu and enter ‘I-LOVE-THE-SIMS’. The game should automatically be added to your account.

The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection contains the original Sims 2 game plus all eight expansion packs, including University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets Seasons, Bon Voyage, Freetime and Apartment Life, and a collection of Stuff Packs.

The promotion comes ahead of the launch of The Sims 4 this September.
