Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds will get an option for font scaling in its newest patch, and thank goodness for that (via Eurogamer).
I can finally say that I've spent the last 3 months getting FONT SCALING into @OuterWorlds! You can get your hands on it very soon! I'm about to drop some GIFs of my work in game! pic.twitter.com/oVweRmg6Bt

It’s something that a proportion of players have brought up time and time again—the text in The Outer Worlds is too tiny. I sat about one foot from the TV when I was reviewing the game, to enjoy all of those pithy puns and get the most from those extensive levelling options for the character. Patch 1.1.1.0 addressed the tiny text and turned it into not-so-tiny text, but apparently, players are still squinting to see if they should shoot first or ask questions while visiting one of the multitude of planets in the Halcyon colony.
I ditched the old font size toggle and went with a user customized slider instead (the slider shown earlier, not in this spefici gif). You can now make conversations/subtitles/examinables text even larger! Here's Parvati to calm your nerves! pic.twitter.com/4E3DO2Hm85

Patch 1.3 will introduce font scaling, which lets players choose how large they want the text to be, across menus, subtitles, objects, and dialogue. Huzzah! Hopefully, this will be the last we see of the tiny text troubles. The update also adds ultrawide support for loading screens and cinematics, improved font visibility, multiple quest tracking on the map, and a new reticle option. Manti-Queens will drop higher quality loot on death, and there will be a toggle for sprinting. Players will be able to invert the X axis, too, and encumbrance will work properly when combined with Confidence perk.
The Outer Worlds is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
