Obsiaidn Entertainment has officially revealed The Outer Worlds 2, a new sci-fi RPG created by the developer behind Fallout New Vegas, Alpha Protocol and more. Coming to Xbox Series, PC and PlayStation 5, the new RPG boasts a much bigger game than its cult-classic debut.
The Outer World 2 release date announced
Revealed at The Game Awards alongside The Witcher 4 and much more, Obsidian’s upcoming RPG has taken “three times longer to make” but will be “two times bigger” than its predecessor. While not much was shown off, the new game will include “new weapons, more action” and “everything that should’ve been included in the first game”.
In development alongside Avowed, the new RPG will bring players back to the corporation-ruined sci-fi world with a new set of characters to fall in love with. Confirmed for a 2025 release date, the game will also be playable via Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox consoles.
“The Outer Worlds 2 is the sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment,” reads the game’s trailer description. “Get ready for an action-packed adventure in a new colony with an even newer crew and the newest graphics!”
Interestingly, despite being owned by Xbox, Obsidian Entertainment’s new game will release simultaneously on all platforms. While games like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle are coming to PlayStation, they have released with short timed exclusivity on Xbox consoles.
