The Helldivers 2 Major Orders are used to advance the story and the Galactic War as Super Earth battles with the Automatons and Terminids. Players must work together and strategize the best approach to liberate and defend planets. Overall, the community has been successful but it has also seen its share of failures due to lack of coordination.

U/Varnis290 took to the Helldivers 2 sub-Reddit to discuss the current Major Order that has tasked players with liberating four Automaton planets in the Andromeda Sector. Due to the lower player count, it has been a struggle to successfully liberate the final two planets as the community is divided between them both, and in turn causing little impact to each.

“After paying more close attention to the Galactic War during these Recent Major Orders focused on Liberating certain Sectors, I’ve noticed that you really can’t make progress on any of these planets if there’s any less than 10,000 Helldivers pushing together,” they said.

When this happens, the only way to make progress is to work together and focus on a single planet. However, that is easier said than done when there is no way to communicate any plans except to the handful of people who may see a post on social media.

Thankfully, with one day to go, the community was able to band together to successfully liberate Marfark after two days of trying. This now means that players have one day to liberate Martale to successfully complete the Major Order and earn the 45 Medals.

Even though the Helldivers 2 community has managed to pull it off this time, there have been many Major Order events that failed for this reason. The divide and conquer method worked when the game was seeing hundreds of thousands of concurrent players. However, it has seen 97% of players abandon the game, so the remaining Helldivers need to coordinate better to help fight the Galactic War. So, the next time you’re looking for a planet to complete missions on, just choose the one with the most players.

With the Automaton forces about to be successfully cut off from the Andromeda Sector, it will be interesting to see whether this opens up new Sectors, as both entry points are connected to currently inaccessible ones. The robot army is currently the focus of the Galactic War right now, which has brought a lot of players over from the Terminids that are unfamiliar with how to tackle them. This has especially led to players being frustrated at the Gunships.
