The Forbidden Arts, a colourful action-adventure title from Stingbot Games, will be setting up home on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in early 2019, the company announced today. The game is due to launch on Steam Early Access on February 7 before seeing a full release around the same time as its console counterparts.

Set in a magical realm that combines both Western and Eastern cultures, The Forbidden Arts chronicles the journey of a hero named Phoenix who sets out on a quest to save the world from a dastardly necromancer.

Stingbot revealed that the game will boast a lavish score composed on an acoustic guitar, and features numerous quests, puzzles, and hulking boss battles to tackle. While ostensibly about saving the world, The Forbidden Arts at its heart will weave a tale of ‘a young man trying to find himself.’ Sounds deep, bro.
