Nexon has a lot of great plans for The First Descendant. If even half of them become reality next year, then the future of TFD is extremely bright. One of the best aspects of the game is undoubtedly its drip and customization, and Nexon are planning to add “more customization” options to The First Descendant with features such as tattoos.

While the release date for Season 2 is imminent, Nexon has shared their goals for beyond the second chapter. They are hoping to add photo mode in Season 3, and they are looking to add more matchmaking options to improve the multiplayer experience. In addition, collaborations with other IPs are “under review,” and “jiggle physics” are on the way.

All of the above are undoubtedly exciting prospects for the future, but The First Descendant players can also look forward to more character customization options such as tattoos.

Nexon teases tattoos and “more customization options” for The First Descendant

On The First Descendant’s official Discord, TFD_PD_Lee has discussed the possibility of adding “more customization options” in the game.

The game’s producer has said that “Expanding and improving customization options remains a major task” for Nexon. However, while the developers have “a few ideas in mind,” right now they are prioritizing the launch of Season 2.

As for the “few ideas” in mind, Lee said, “tattoos and body art are something we’ll think about when we expand customization options in the future”. In the same message, the developer admitted that Nexon “haven’t considered adding skin tone customization”.

In an earlier message, Lee also discussed the possibility of an on/off toggle for helmets and other facial accessories on Ultimate skins. The developer warned it “could be quite costly if approached as a true toggle feature” so, for now, Nexon is proceeding with the idea of “creating two versions” of skins where one has the facial accessory and the other doesn’t.

The plan is to add the alternative version “through battle pass rewards,” as is happening with Ultimate Freyna without a helmet. Masks have been an annoyance of Ultimate skins complained about by many within the TFD community, so hopefully this suffices as an acceptable option rather than the ability to toggle on/off.
