The First Descendant devs tease the release of a new fan-favorite “playable” character with a story already “prepared”

We are getting closer to The First Descendant Season 3 arriving sometime in June. Official details about the TFD upcoming chapter will be provided at PAX EAST, and the devs have teased a “bikini skin” and more as part of the “large scale” update. There will be a new Descendant also, and, while it won’t be Gley’s daughter yet, The First Descendant devs have teased that the new popular character will become “playable” in the future.

The First Descendant devs tease the release of a new “playable” character

On Discord, Nexon are conducting an AMA with The First Descendant fans up until April 30th. There have been some interesting answers from the developer, and, while they’re not yet ready to pull the curtain aside on the new hero for Season 3, they have revealed a new upcoming addition to the roster for the future.

As part of the AMA, a fan asked TFD_Director_Jooms if there is anything Nexon “can say about the release of Dia as a new playable descendant”. To this, Jooms responded: “It is true that we have considered making Dia a playable descendant and have prepared her story”.

While it’s fantastic news that Dia will eventually become playable, the unfortunate news is that “she will not be released this summer”. There’s no ETA for when she will become available to play, and it’s possible it could be a while as her story is only “prepared”.

Dia was recently introduced in Season 2 Episode 2 as part of Serena’s story. She is the daughter of Gley who was believed to be dead, and the story involved saving Dia and witnessing a reunion between her and Gley.

She instantly became a fan-favorite due to her appearance and performance in the story, and fans will be glad to know that she is officially in-development to become playable one day.
