The First Descendant recently introduced leaderboards and new stages for the Void Erosion Purge in update 1.2.6. This update was already lambasted for secretly nerfing Ines Raya, but the Void Erosion Purge changes have also been massively scrutinized by the TFD community. Fortunately, Nexon has heard the feedback, and they have announced major fixes for the Void Erosion Purge coming to The First Descendant.

The First Descendant devs reveal imminent fixes for Void Erosion Purge

Following changes made to the Void Erosion Purge in update 1.2.6, Nexon has revealed a slew of fixes set to arrive in The First Descendant on February 13th. Below is the list of upcoming adjustments as announced on Discord:

  • Increase ATK effect bonuses for weapons in Void Erosion Purge to enhance the impact of core growth.
  • Adjust Elite Monsters’ HP to improve progression speed.
  • Modify enemy spawns and compositions to reduce frustration from unavoidable attacks, including easing the guided effect of certain attacks.
  • Expand public matchmaking to all stages above Stage 25 to resolve matchmaking distribution issues.

Again, these improvements will arrive in update 1.2.7, scheduled for February 13th. In addition to the above for Void Erosion Purge, Nexon is looking to “implement rebalance work for underperforming Descendants,” however, this will take place after update 1.2.7 as rebalances require further discussion and analysis.

Alongside the key improvements, Nexon also apologised to fans. Their announcement states, “Void Erosion Purge was designed as content with the goal of enhancing weapon mechanism through tough encounters,” however, it has unfortunately resulted in an “unintended difficulty spike for solo players” because “Season 2 did not include any defense-related growth elements (scheduled for a March update)”.

It’s good that Nexon are always listening to the community, and they have frequently shown in the past that they are flexible and willing to implement changes based on feedback. Hopefully these upcoming fixes will appease the community.
