The Finals Season 5 is imminent. We only have to wait a couple more days for Embark’s newest chapter to arrive, and there is a lot that fans will be able to enjoy including a new map and weapons. While it’s not new content, players will be happy to know that The Finals Season 5 also includes improved weapon handling to fix one of the game’s biggest issues since launch.

The release date for The Finals Season 5 is December 12th. Ahead of its launch, Embark has shown off the new map along with the new weapons, gadgets, and information about clubs. In addition to the beginning of Season 5, December 12th also marks the game’s debut on PS4 consoles, which means even more players will be able to join the multiplayer chaos.

All of the new content looks fantastic, but one of the best aspects about the upcoming chapter is simply a fix to the game’s visual recoil.

The Finals Season 5 includes massive visual recoil fix

Ahead of The Finals Season 5 launch, it has emerged that there is a huge visual recoil fix. A gameplay comparison of old vs. new has been shared on Reddit, and the weapons used in the comparison include the AK, FCAR, V9S, and the M60.

The gameplay is simply restricted to within the game’s training suite rather than in the middle of the battlefield. However, it clearly shows that weapon recoiling is far more stable in Season 5, leading to more precise shots in one spot rather than chaotically spraying up, down, left and right.

You can see the gameplay comparison in the embedded Reddit post below:

For The Finals Season 5, Embark are introducing two new weapons:

  • ShAK-50: A heavy-hitting rifle for the Heavy that fires two bullets per shot, delivering immense stopping power with each pull of the trigger.
  • Cerberus 12GA: A break-action triple shotgun for the Medium loaded with incendiary shells that can set both contestants and the environment ablaze.

They are also introducing the following new gadgets:

  • Gravity Vortex: a deployable gadget for the Light with a remote trigger that creates a local singularity that pulls in everything around it, including objectives, players and objects.
  • Lockbolt Launcher: a gadget for the Heavy that shoots an anchor into the environment that captures and holds up to three targets. Players are still able to move when anchored but they won’t get far.
